Putin won’t be in power, officials discussing his replacement, claims top Ukrainian official

A top Ukrainian official has claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not survive the Ukraine war and that his officials are discussing his replacement. Ukraine’s chief of defense intelligence, Major General Kyrlo Budanov, said senior Russian officials were actively discussing Putin’s replacement.

He believes Putin will not be able to stay in power, according to The Mirror.

The report also said that a plan to oust Putin is already being discussed. “It is unlikely that he will survive this. And at present, active discussions are taking place in Russia about who will replace him, ”said Major General Kyrlo Budanov.

The official further said that Kyiv is aiming to recapture Kherson by the end of November as Russia continues to face failures on the Ukrainian battlefield. He said Ukraine would attempt to retake Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014.

This comes just days after Russia claimed Ukraine carried out a ‘massive’ drone strike on the Black Sea Fleet in the Crimean port city of Sevastopol.

Ukraine recently launched an eastward counteroffensive as Russian forces retreated from Kherson. However, after Ukraine’s counter-offensive, Putin launched massive missile and drone strikes in major cities, destroying electricity and infrastructure.

Missile and drone strikes have disabled more than 40% of Ukraine’s power generation capacity, resulting in energy rationing and blackouts across the country.

Former MI6 chief Sir Alex Younger said Putin was in danger of being kicked out of the political constituency he had created.

Younger, who was the head of MI6 from 2014 to 2020, said in an interview, “The anarchist, nationalist, arguably fascist, right wing that was his support base and is now pushing him not to get too far and tough.”
