Rape accused killed by tying him to a tree in Tripura

Agartala: A 46-year-old rape accused was lynched to death by women in Tripura’s Dhalai district. The incident is of Gandachera police station area. According to the information, the accused in the murder case had returned after serving eight years in jail.

On Tuesday night, a five-year-old girl had gone to attend a religious program along with her mother. It is alleged that the youth took the girl to the forest by luring her and raped her and left her there and ran away.

Hearing the sound of the girl crying, the people around reached there and informed the police. According to the police, the locals informed the police after seeing the girl crying, after which the girl was admitted to the local hospital.

According to the report of PTI, local people told that the girl was last seen with the man. For the arrest of the accused, the local people also demonstrated by jamming the Gandachera-Amarpur highway.

Meanwhile, some women saw the accused in a nearby village and caught him. On Wednesday morning, the women caught hold of the accused and tied him to a tree and then thrashed him. The women beat the accused so much that he fainted.

The women also made a video of the accused beating up and made it viral on social media. In the video, women are seen beating the accused of rape fiercely.

Later the accused was dragged from the tree to the hospital in an unconscious state where doctors declared him brought dead. Police is probing both the cases.
