According to a report in the UK-based Times, a Russian helicopter was seen splitting in two after a Ukrainian military attack. The report further stated that the missile used by the Ukrainian military is a British-made Starstreak.

A video of the incident circulating online shows the Mi28N breaking off the tail after being hit by the missile. The Times said the helicopter was targeted in the Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine.

The Times said the report was based on information from sources in the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, who reported that the anti-aircraft system had been deployed in the country for about a week.
This is the first use of a UK-made high-velocity missile. Last week, videos surfaced online showing Ukrainian helicopters firing multiple rockets at a fuel storage depot in Belgorod, Russia, followed by an explosion.

The Starstreak is the UK’s most advanced manned portable missile system and hits targets with three kinetic darts. It was created by Thales.
Britain’s Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said last month that he would supply Ukraine with anti-aircraft missiles to protect its skies from Russian aggression that began on February 24.
He described the missile system as “important” to Ukraine in a statement to the UK parliament.
