At least three people were killed and 15 injured in a Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian central city of Dnipro on Friday.

“The rocket hit an industrial plant and a busy road next to it,” Regichenko said on his Facebook page. “We are setting the limits of destruction.”

Ukraine’s air force said several cruise missiles fired from strategic bombers over the Caspian Sea hit a factory in Dniepro, a major city on the Dnieper River, at around 10 p.m. (19:00 GMT). It said that four incoming missiles were shot down. Videos posted on social media showed thick black smoke billowing from buildings and cars.

The attack on Dnipro comes a day after a Russian missile attack killed at least 23 people and injured more than 200 in the city of Vinnytsia, southwest of the capital Kyiv. In recent weeks, Russia has used long-range missiles at crowded buildings in cities far from the front, killing dozens on every occasion. It refuses to target civilians.

Russian air strikes were also reported elsewhere.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged everyone to pay attention to the airstrikes sirens and take cover.

“The man had finished his working day and was on his way to the depot to go back to work at 5 am yesterday. He didn’t make it,” wrote Ivan Vasuchkov.

“Two children are left without a father. A really young boy, my age, he still had so much time to live. There are just no words,” he said.
