Russian missiles strike Kyiv, shattering the spirit of peace
Russia’s Defense Ministry says airstrikes in the Ukrainian capital have destroyed tanks and other weapons donated by the West, which in an attack on Sunday shattered five weeks of fearful peace in Kiev as President Vladimir Putin warned the West about supplying long-range rocket systems to the West. In a post on the Telegram app, Russia’s Defense Ministry said that high-precision, long-range air-to-air missiles were used. It said the attack on the outskirts of Kiev destroyed T-722 tanks supplied by Eastern European countries and other armored vehicles located in the car repair business.

If Kyiv gets a long-range rocket, he added, Moscow will “come to the right conclusion and use our means of destruction, which we have in abundance, so that we can hit objects that have not yet hit.”
The missiles hit Kiev’s Darnitsky and Niprovsky districts, Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said in a telegram messaging app, breaking the Kremlin’s recently reduced goal of previously occupying the entire Donbass region. Moscow-backed separatists have been fighting Ukrainian forces in Donbass for eight years and have established a self-proclaimed republic.
In recent days, Russian forces have focused on capturing the city of Sieverodnetsk.
