A report said Russian soldiers prepared to fight in Ukraine under President Vladimir Putin’s orders for partial mobilization are being shot if they attempt to leave their positions on the front lines.
The claims were made by the wives of Russian soldiers, who threatened to go to the front lines in Ukraine to bring their husbands back home, Newsweek reported.

The outlet cited a video published on media outlet Verstka’s Telegram channel as saying that a woman is asking military officers to return their husbands or they will “separate them.”

The women were reportedly in a military unit in the city of Valuyki in the Belgorod region, near the Ukrainian border. The women in the video said their husbands were attacked in Makivka, a town in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, saying several men were injured and demanding that their husbands return to Russia.
Latvia-based Russian-language news outlet Meduza also reported that the men had been returned to their military unit in Russia, Newsweek reported.
Earlier, Britain’s defense ministry said the Russian military was threatening to shoot deserters who were unprepared to fight “due to low morale”.
Britain’s Defense Ministry said the Russian military had begun deploying “barrier troops” or “intercept units” to deal with its own retreating troops.
