Security forces have arrested five NSCN-K (YA) militants in the last 72 hours and recovered weapons and ammunition from their possession in Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

In an anti-militant operation, Assam Rifles troops captured three hardline militants belonging to the banned NSCNK (YA) organization from the city of Som in Nagaland, as they entered the Indian side from Myanmar and carried out various attacks. .
An official in Kohima said the detained terrorists were residents of Myanmar.
The arrested terrorists were identified as Una Kanyak, Tonfo Kanyak aka Eaton and Songam Kanyak and were arrested by Assam Rifles troops in an operation in the border town on Tuesday in collaboration with local police.
Defense officials said Una Konyak is a resident of Thela village, Tonfo Konyak is a resident of Kamka village and Songam Konyak is a resident of Langkho area of Myanmar.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army on Wednesday arrested a NSCN-K (YA) terrorist from Miao Reserve forest area in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh in a joint operation with police.
Security personnel recovered live ammunition and other criminal items from him, including a point 22mm pistol.
In a separate operation, security personnel from the Red Shield Division under the Spear Corps arrested an active NSCN (IM) terrorist near Tinkopani Reserve Forest in Tinsukia district of Assam on Tuesday in a joint operation with police.
Based on specific information, security forces launched an operation and arrested the NSCN (IM) terrorist and recovered a 7.65 mm pistol with three rounds, a safety fuse, a detonator and 250 grams of explosives from the terrorist.

The arrested militants and the recovered goods were later handed over to the police.
