
Survey for second India-Bangladesh railway line completed: Tripura Minister
Tripura Transport Minister Pranjit Singha Roy has informed that the preliminary survey for the second India-Bangladesh rail link between Belonia in Tripura and Feni in Bangladesh was concluded recently.
On the other hand, the first project – the Agartala-Akhaura railway link project is on the verge of completion.
Addressing the ongoing budget session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, the minister said, “98 per cent of the construction for the first project has been completed, while the baseline survey for the Belonia-Feni link has also been completed.”

Roy told the House that Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav is likely to visit Tripura on March 25.
“In June 2020, we have proposed ‘North East Region Vision 2035’ for further expansion of railway connectivity in Tripura. We have also requested for laying of double line track for seamless movement of goods and passenger trains,” the minister said.

“Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb had requested the Union Railway Minister on January 21 to include the projects in the Railway Budget,” the Transport Minister told the House.
