World Bank President David Malpass congratulated India for its successful vaccination campaign against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) during a meeting with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Washington on Saturday. “President Malpass congratulated Minister Sitharaman on India’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign and thanked Minister Sitharaman for India’s international role in vaccine production and distribution,” the World Bank said in a statement.

Mandaviya on Saturday said that India will cross the landmark of 1 billion Covid-19 vaccine doses next week. He said that till Saturday evening, 97.23 crore people in the country have been given the first dose of Kovid vaccine.
He said that administered vaccines show that about 70 per cent of the population is getting at least one dose and about 30 per cent of the population has received two doses.
