Three arrested for possession of heroin worth Rs 2.5 crore
AIZAWL: Security agencies have arrested at least three people, including two women, for possession of heroin worth Rs 2.5 crore in Mizoram.
The Assam Rifles said in a statement on Wednesday.
A joint team of Assam Rifles and Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department seized the heroin consignment and arrested the three.
They were seized and arrested in Bankawan area of Aizawl, Mizoram.
A total of 503 grams of heroin was seized from the three suspects, the Assam Rifles said.
The seized heroin shipment was hidden in at least 40 cases of soap.
The three accused and the seized prohibited items worth Rs 2.51 crore were handed over to the Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department for further legal action.
