Three citizens of Myanmar escape from Churachandpur Jail
Imphal: Three Myanmar nationals have escaped from a makeshift prison at the crematorium in Manipur’s Churachandpur district, bordering Myanmar. The police gave this information on Monday.
The three Myanmar nationals, identified as Winminte, 28, Win Naing Thon, 27, and Biaka (17), sons of Usawel from Myanmar, are now living in Mizoram’s Kwanpui, an official said on Sunday. Was missing since 8 am.
According to the police, Biaka was brought to jail on March 29, 2021 and Winminte and Win Naing Thon on April 7 the same year.

The police have started raids to arrest the prisoners who escaped from the jail.
Official sources said the makeshift jail had 45 inmates, including nine children, and that two women inmates had died.
A total of 84 Myanmarese were detained by the Manipur police from different areas of Churachandpur district during the period 2021 to 2022 after they entered Manipur illegally following the coup in Myanmar.
Of the 84 Myanmarese, 24 were children, 25 were men, and 35 were women.
Sources said that they are lodged in a temporary jail.
