Three militants arrested in Manipur and grenades recovered
Police say that a major plan to carry out the attack in the Sunikthel areas of Imphal West has been averted.
Police sources mentioned Imphal West district police commandos arrested three rebels of the banned United National Liberation Front throughout a special search operation on Tuesday night. 4 Chinese made hand grenades had been also recovered from them.
Imphal West District Superintendent of Police S. Ibomcha mentioned a major plan to launch a grenade attack within the Sanchithel areas had been averted.
Police mentioned an operation was launched in Langjing Achouba areas following details about the presence of some insurgents. Police arrested 33-year-old Maibam Abung. A cell phone and a two-wheeler have been recovered from him. With the data acquired from him, the police arrested two extra rebels, 41-year-old A Robikumar and 30-year-old Soibam Somen.
