Two elephants killed in train collision in Assam
A Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) spokesperson said that two elephants died after being hit by a train in Assam’s Morigaon district.
The elephant collided with the engine of Rajdhani Express going to Dibrugarh near Jagiroad at around 10 pm. On Tuesday, the official said. The spokesman said the movement of the train was not affected due to the incident.
“As per the preliminary report of the locomotive driver, the jumbo collided sideways with the engine. The driver had reported the death of one elephant and injuries to the other. It was later revealed that both had died.
The elephants probably entered the area from the surrounding forests.
