Russo-Ukraine War: To help Ukraine fight the ongoing Russian invasion, the United States has sent a number of financial and military aid packages to the Eastern European nation.

The United States, which has sent financial and military aid packages to help Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia, should not send any more weapons to Ukraine, Anatoly Antonov, Moscow’s ambassador to Washington, has said, an official diplomat. A note has been sent to Washington expressing Russia’s concerns.



“We emphasized the unacceptability of the situation when the US lays down arms in Ukraine, and we demanded an end to this exercise,” Antonov told Russian state TV channel Rossiya 24.

Just this month, the Joe Biden administration announced two military aid packages for the Eastern European nation, each worth USD 800 billion.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly urged world powers, and organizations such as NATO and the European Union, to give his country more weapons and equipment so that it can stave off the Russian offensive that began on February 24.

Meanwhile, Antonov’s remarks came even as the US announced additional military aid to Kyiv on Sunday. The announcement was made by the US Secretary of State.

This amount – USD 713 million – is for Ukraine, and the United States’ 15 allies and partner countries in the region. Of this amount, USD 322 million has been earmarked for Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly justified the invasion – which he describes as a ‘special military operation’ – saying that Ukraine needs to ‘de-nazify’.
