World War II peace rally during Hornbill festival in Nagaland
The state will host the 22nd edition of the much-awaited 10-day Hornbill Festival this year, a cultural festival to be held in the picturesque Naga Heritage Village of Kisama from December 1, 2021 to December 10, 2021.
During the festivities, a wreath-laying and flag-raising ceremony will be held at the Commonwealth War Cemetery in Kohima in honor of the fallen soldiers.
The Peace Rally Convoy will conclude at Raju Point, Flower House, PR Hill, Fasama and the World War II Museum at Kisama in Naga Heritage Village, where the awards ceremony will be held at 2 p.m.

Targeted Rally is one of the main attractions of this long 10-day cultural festival, which seeks to promote peace and harmony in the memory of Kohima’s war.
About the Battle of Kohima:
The Battle of Kohima in the Naga Mountains in 1944 was an important battle of World War II.
It is a piece of history that was a turning point in 1994 during World War II.
The war took place in some of the toughest terrains in the world, and as a direct result of the war more than 150,000 people were killed and a large number of troops and property were damaged.
These include the deaths of 80,000 refugees and 13,000 British troops during the withdrawal from Burma to India in 1942, 45,000 Japanese troops and 16,700 British and Indian troops during the battle of Imphal and Kohima, and an indefinite number of members of the Indian National Army (INA). And Nagara during the battle of Imphal and Kohima.
The Battle of Kohima took place around the town of Kohima in three episodes from 4 April to 22 June 1944.

The Nagaland Adventure and Motor Sports Association (NAMSA) organizes World War II peace rallies every year as part of the Hornbill Festival.
